firstly, i consider stickies to be the essential mac app. it just might be my favorite app ever. so simple. so useful.

anyway.

i usually like to line up all my stickies across the top of my screen. so theyre all visible and happy.

for some reason in panther, when i open stickies, they dont remember their place. ive tried trashing the .plist. i dont know what to do. maybe we need a stickies update.

I get some of the same problems.

Usually most of them stay in place, but the others all move all over the place.

it's weird.

Hi folks,

I've got a Stickies like app in development that'll solve this problem. Email me here if you would like to give a beta a try:

stickynotes@randomsequence.com

EDIT :

This is now available as version 1.0 here

Yup, mine do this too - almost any sticky left within an area of about 100 pixels below the menu bar is shifted into a single row below this area between launches.

I've also got a different Stickies problem - whenever I launch it, a new blank stickie will be created every time even though I already have several. I don't remember it doing this before and as far as I know, I've not set it up to do this. Anyone else see this?

Edit: Having just thought about it, both of these behaviours may have started after I made one or two of my stickies always stay in front of everything else on screen... does anyone suffering the displacement problem use this feature at all?

I talked to an Apple developer and he maintains that this is a bug with stickies.app.However he knows nothing about a bug fix.
