Just installed my copy of FCE on my G5. I'm still astonished to find no way to set a motion effect on a keyframe (such as setting the opacity to go from 0 to 100 in 1 second). Was this stripped in the Express version? Did I just waste $99?

Keyframing is indeed very limited in FCE. If I remember correctly, the only things you can keyframe are opacity and volume, using the pen tool directly in the timeline window. You can't keyframe any other effects.

Apple has a feature comparison chart on their website.

Can you still put in the markers or keyframes or whatever they are called and have the video move from place to place and zoom in and out?
