I have apple remote desktop and i'm successfully able to connect to multiple computers. However, i'm unable to connect to a specific computer which is hooked up to an airport extreme basestation. I'm trying to connect from a different location (i'm not part of the network).

Airpot gives an IP # like 10.1.0.1
The computer has a normal IP address
I can't connect to either one.

What IP am i lookin for.
I already disabled the firewall.

Am i suppose to try a combo of the two?

how do you located a computer who's connected thru airport, and who's not on your network?

what IP # would you be typing.
Airpot assigns a 10.X.X.X

you cant' use that for remote desktop

Go to www.whatismyip.com, and use the IP reported there.

i tried using that IP address. Still doesn't work. I'm able to connect to other computers, just not this one. I've double and triple checked the settings.

The computer is a 610.xxxx
and the airport for that computer is 10.xxxx

am i missing something?
