i'm a newbie and just switched over. i am trying to burn a dvd to a dvd-r using my superdrive on my 12" pb. when i put the dvd in, and then try to open osex or dvdbackup, it shows up in my dock for a split second and then closes right away.

if anyone can help me out, id greatly appreciate it.

usually that means you expanded the downloads with Stuffit 8.0 and it screwed up the permissions in the app bundle. There's an update for Stuffit or you can fix the permissions with Terminal. Right click on the app and select View Package Contents. Go to Contents/MacOS. Type "cd " in the terminal and drag the MacOS folder there and hit return. Then type "chmod 777 " and drag the file (with the same name as the app) to the terminal window and type return. The app should now launch normally. If your problem is the same as everyone else who has this problem
