Whenever I get attachments I usually just drag them onto the desktop from the Mail window. Today though, I noticed that when I do, it sets the permissions to Read-Only. I'm listed as the owner, but I have to manually change the permissions to give me Read/Write permissions so that I can edit the file.

However, when I click the "Save All" button in the message, and save the attachments that way, it automatically gives me Read/Write permissions.

Any one else experience this?

I can report the same problem with Mail. If I drag an attachment to the desktop it opens as read-only. However if I use the Save All button in Mail the document can be saved to the desktop and it doesn't open as read-only.

Has anyone come across a fix for this problem?

Sam

Wow, that is a big bug...how silly; however, I know it's been addressed in the new version of Mail.app that will be included with 10.3.2....
