Does Backup 2 write to DVD-RW on PowerBooks with built-in SuperDrives? I have Retrospect Express, but it will only do DVD-R. If Backup does work with DVD-RW, I may have finally found rationale for reviving my .Mac account.

Backup 2 can use DVD-RW disks just fine. My PowerBook doesn't have a built-in SuperDrive, I have an external burner connected via firewire. I don't see any reason why Backup 2 wouldn't burn to DVD-RWs using your internal SuperDrive.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Thanks for the confirmation, Jason. I'm probably using the same hack on my Rev A 12" PB. I guess it's time to pony up the $108.20 ($99.95 + tax) to get my .Mac account reactivated.

Does anybody know whether the .Mac retail box works for reactivations? I may be able to save a few bucks going that route.

[UPDATE] I did a search of the Apple Discussion area and poked around on Apple's web site and found that the upgrade process accepts an activation key, so it appears I can indeed buy the retail box for reactivation. Plus, I found out that Buy.com has .Mac retail packages for $77.07 + $5 shipping.
