Do you mean the hard disk scan it does at the beginning of the install? It is doing a surface scan of your entire disk to check for problems. You can skip that if you want.

No, i'm thinking about the installation of WMP. At the beginning it said "searching macintosh hd" for over five minutes.. I guess VISE has some issues with Panther though.
