Let's face it... what is the BIGGEST use of the internet...? We all use it for different things... checking mail, surfing, etc... but I think we've almost ALL looked at porn in one way or another.
Some of us... just fleetingly... others a lot... some, even daily or more.
I know it will NEVER happen through a company like Apple, but imagine an iTunes Music store for Porn...!
iPorn Video Store. High quality movies that you KNOW what the content is before downloading... no adds or subscriptions... no BS... no search results that list everything under the sun, but have no real content. The ability to buy just ONE CLIP at a fixed price. Heheheh... imagine the SUCCESS of such a product...? Everyone I know has admitted to downloading, watching, surfing for or reading porn on the web (men & women alike). It's one of the few real money-makers on the internet.
I'd just love to see an app like that where I can just choose a category... read a description... pay a small fee per clip and get quality imagery or movies.
I can't be alone on this one... can I...?

Adult Media Finder - it's now shareware but it's a nice Cocoa application.
It's not on Version Tracker last I checked so do a Google search for it. I believe the author of the program posts (or at least did a year ago) here.

There is such an app, I think it's called... umm ...what was it again? Oh, right.

The only price is the one put on your head by copyright holders but many millions of people apparently think it's a small price.

You know a lot of people say a large part of Final Cut Pro gaining ground in the editing world is due to it's adoption by adult film shops in the Valley.

LOL!
I guess the 30 second clips will have to be carefully chosen to keep the previews PG-13 or so
Perhaps even this thread will motivate some of the bigger porn companies (or as they say on SlashDot, "pr0n" - old joke) to develop such a thing. Wouldn't that be a sign of the times.

Same is said for video on demand services and broadband internet at home.

Although I do believe that WebGrazer gets the pictures from www.com so you can just go there and save $15.

Best $5.00 I've ever spent...Webgrazer has been open for about 5 minutes and I have probably a gigabyte worth of adult content to shuffle through now. It's not the most intuitive program, and it has it's bugs, but it does it's job well and looks to be updated frequently.

It's only been a glance, but I'm not impressed.
The test mode lets you see thirty badly scaled thumbnails before begging for money. The app might be fine, but it has a poor way of showing it. (I'd rather it limit the number of downloads rather than the number of thumbnails....)
I'd suggest Diiva, a graphical newsgroup reader. A great way of seeing the thumbnails of stuff on USENET.

Why look anywhere but newsgroups?
Anyway, can anyone answer this question - is there anyway to make a password protected iPhoto album? I've got plenty of digital camera snaps which I'd like to keep organised in iPhoto, but the idea of having them mixed up in the regular, unprotected album isn't appealing. Is there any solution, aside from setting up a whole new user profile/login (which is a pain in the butt)?
Any ideas?

Wow, taking naughty photos of the girlfriend, eh? Can we have some?
I don't know of any password protected iPhoto software but you can create a password-protected encrypted disc image in Disk Copy (Disk Utility in Panther) and keep any kind of file you want in it. Just create a volume of any size, check the encryption box, and it'll ask you to create a password. Or use File Vault in Panther.

You'll see them shortly on my Website Just kidding!
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I really think the ability to have a private album would be a great addition to the next version of iPhoto.. here's hoping.
(Still a bit hesitant about using FileVault)

Just go to "sublime directory" free porn for you without the hassle of sharware. Search on google for it.
(note: im not endorsing this site)
Apparently, pornography sites use Quicktime for downloads. Even if it is explicit, it is good to see a large group adopting quicktime as a standard.
You might have a good idea on the iMovie Store. What other application would they use?
Perhaps it'll be like when you go to the back of a video store through the beaded entrance. Other video stores place it near wrestling and kung fu movies.
Of course, the movie store would focus on other categories and maybe exclusives. Yet some of us would be looking for convenience at an affortable price. When the movie industry goes nuts we'd be set.

IMHO the easiest way:
- use iPhoto to burn your album to cd
- make an encrypted disk-image from that cd
- remove album and pics from iPhoto
now every time you mount this disk-image the album is available in iPhoto!
its actually not hard to do this without first burning the cd... you just have to add a file called IPHOTO.XML to the root of your disk-image in which you tell iPhoto where the "iPhoto Library" can be found in the image.
it look like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>ArchiveName</key>
<string>the name of the album</string>
<key>ArchivePath</key>
<string>./iPhoto Library</string>
</dict>
</plist>
