Backup 2 DVD-RW Invisible Files?

Downloaded and installed Backup 2 (v174) on "clean install" Panther, Quicksilver G4 933 1024 ram. Backing up 3.5 GB user folder from boot drive to DVD-RW successful, however backup of 255MB disc images from secondary internal Maxtor drive as part of same back-up yields "invisible" files on same DVD-RW disc. Backup log indicates succesful but files cannot be seen unless BBBedit or similar program used to view "invisible" files. Never had this problem with Backup 1. A folder named Volumes would be created and the disc images would be visible in this folder. Sent feedback to Apple, anyone else experiencing the same...any solutions?
