I'm having trouble getting Word to work since I updated to 10.3. Word stops halfway through launch and says it doesn't have enough disk space or memory to run (I've got over 40 GB of HD space left and 512 MB of memory, over half of which is unused according to Activity Monitor), Excel just freezes mid launch, same for Entourage, and Power Point will launch all the way. Anyone have any idea what to do? I've tried trashing everything Office related and reinstsalling, but that didn't help. And yes, I did a clean install of Panther.

do you experience this when you want to or have 2 office apps open the same time?
My dad had this problem also in MacOS 9.

Hmmmmm. Weird one.
First idea. You may have a corrupted Database and Database Cache in Home->Documents->Microsoft Users Data->Office X Identities->Main Identity. Try trashing it and restart. If that doesn't work trash the entire Microsoft Users Data folder. Then restart.
Are you SURE you trashed absolutely everything Office related? Is there anything Office-related floating around your Home folder? I think the Install disk has an uninstaller doesn't it. Try that as well.
Did you run Disk First Aid/Repair Permissions and Disk Warrior?
Perhaps restart and switch users to log-in using a different log-in name. Then open Office.
Another possibility is bad RAM. Take out all but the original RAM and see if that works.
I've got a 12" with 640 MB and 10.3 w/ absolutely no problems with Office. There's got to be a logical answer to this. Good luck!

I trashed the entire User Data folder when I deleted things, and all my RAM is original, direct from Apple RAM (just that one 512 stick). I'll try First Aid to see if that works,though...

I don't think this is a ram problem because then it should crash random apps at random time

I narrowed it down to a user-specific problem. Word launches perfectly fine in root, but still won't under my main account. I tried trashing the entire /usr/Library/Preferences/Microsoft folder, but that didn't help. Know of any other files that could be blocking Word from getting at memory or causing the problem?

Well, nevermind. I deleted everything I could find that had to do with Office in any way then installed it from Root instead. Now it works fine.
