I have MAC OS 9.2--
I have used AOL Instant Messenger for a long time, and all of a sudden, just two weeks ago, I can no longer sign in. I get a message that says "The connection has been dropped by the host." I can sign into all of my other programs using an internet connection. I called my cable internet provider and they say it's not their problem and AIM is not blocked. I tried calling AOL--this is my last resort. I want to get this fixed...I have reinstalled the program several times. SOMEBODY HELP!!!

I haven't used OS9 in a while, but the only thing I can suggest really is deleting the preference file for aim. You can find this in your System Folder, under Preferences, look for something with AIM or AOL in the title and delete it and then open up the AIM program. All the settings are erased and back to default..maybe something got messed up somewhere?
