Yesterday before doing a clean install of 10.3, I used Carbon Copy Cloner to move everything to my second internal drive.

I'll admit I don't know how to boot from that drive in order to move the much needed preferences and serial numbers to the main hard drive,.

Please help!
thanks.

Isn't there a key you can press at start up to select which drive you start up from? I remember this from os9. Does it still work?

Yes, hold down Option at startup and you'll be presented with a list of bootable drives/system folders to boot from....
