hi all, i wasnt too sure if this was the right place to post this query, but i'll have a go anyways...

I am trying to make a multilingual cd rom, and director mx can't use unicode the way flash mx can.... We're wanting to get up to 18 languages (yeah stupid for a first time, i know..) to run from the projector on the cd.

Can i embed the xml/utf-8 data within swfs which i could then import into director and show the foriegn scripts (cyrillic, greek et al)?

have any of you tried anything like this or know wether it will/wont work?

any ideas or suggestions would be really appreciated

you could use flash, and pull in all the text from text files or html files- it may help if the correct fonts (crylic, etc) are embedded in the flash document, or you may be able to pull it in as html-encided characters, or unicode. I havent done it for different alphabets, but it works fine for, say, French, UK, etc.

The upside is you only change the txt/html file, and the update is complete
