I know there is another topic similiar to this, but my problem is different...

Since installing Panther and iTunes 4.1, I am experiencing 1-3 seconds of delay while switching between songs. It is really annoying and sometimes I even have to click 4-6 times before it will even <i>attempt</i> to start playing a song! I have noticed a lot of disk activity just to switch to another song. It also happens when iTunes is the only program I have open. Did it on clean install as well... I have 1,530 songs on my library, and never had this problem before.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I just installed Panther (yay!) about an hour ago archive install, and everything seems smooth as butter (b&w 512 MB ram 10.3.1). After I installed I repaired permissions and restarted. When is the last time you did this? (twice a month should keep your system in tip-top shape).
