I have looked around quite a bit on the net, through these forums, and on Apple's site, but I have been able to find the answer. I really like Soundtrack, but it is clearly a 1.0 release. It is quite sluggish when I am trying to move around in the project to view the sound clips spread across several tracks and has very limited features, but it's the closest thing to "Acid" I have found. I am concerned because I don't know how well Soundtrack has sold, and I expect that if it hasn't sold well then Apple will not update it (except within it's Mother application)..

so.. anyone know anything about this?

Thanks for your time.

My school got a volume license for a digital media class (along with 14 15" powerbooks ) and I would not recomend getting it right now..

My biggest problem is that once a track is added, you can't 'write' music onto it, to add another instance of the loop (later in the music) you either need to duplicate a current instance, or re-drag it from your source pane.

that probably didn't make any sense

i don't know if they are updating it.

I'd like to learn more about Soundtrack. Any screenshots floating around I can take a peek at?

have you looked at the Soundtrack Quick Tour that apple has up...it's actually fairly informative (but perhaps not surprisingly a bit strong on the hyperbole.....heheh)
