Does anyone know why when I try to export an MPEG file from Quicktime, it says there is no audio track? The movie definitely has audio (it is a music video) but all QT export options say there is no audio track.

This is with QT 6.4 Pro

This is because the audio track is somehow mixed into the video track in MPEG and QuickTime doesn't see a separate audio track then. This is called muxed. You need to find a tool to demux the MPEG (search for that term on Versiontracker). You then have separate audio and video tracks, you can add the audo track to the video and export to whatever you want.

Thanks for the info - the bbDemux worked, but contrary to what I read around the net, iTunes was unable to convert the .m1a file into mp3. I had to use an old Mac OS 9 app called SoundApp. Is there a better way to do the last encode?
