i have my mouse speed set to the fastest it can go, but whenever I roll the pointer over an icon, or menu bar.. or anything selectable, the mouse slows down all the way, until I pass over that point.

How can I stop this?

Care to give more info? Apple's own mice and mouse drivers do not do that.
