I much prefer Panther's Preview.app to Adobe Reader 6.0. However, I have about 20 important documents containing sections. Example:

Total document of 512 pages.
- section "c1" = cover, 1 page
- section "b" = foreword, 1 page
- section "i" to "xii" = contents, 8 pages
...
- content starts with page 1 (page 11 in total)

Now I have a main index to cross-search these PDF files, stating the file and page number.

If I go to page 100 in Preview, I get around page 90 (wrong page) and have to skip forward manually.

I I go to page 100 in Adobe Reader, the correct page appears.

Is there a way getting the same result in Preview? I really would like to ban Adobe Reader from my system. Thanks.

nope.

and Preview doesn't support .pdf forms yet either.

if you have bookmarks in your .pdf documents these can sometimes make up for the lack of section support, but overall, you're stuck with Adobe for now.

Thanks for answering. I will send a feedback to Apple on this.
