I often post long articles on the web for various purposes, and I'm looking for a piece of software that will convert a Word doc or RTF to clean html. I was able to do this rather well in Word 98, which didn't add too much junk to the code, but Word X's "Save as Web Page" feature is a disaster, as I'm sure you all know. I don't relish the thought of recoding 7000 word articles by hand, including some light formatting in bold and italic.

Since I'd only be using it for this one purpose, I'd like to avoid spending any money if possible--but I'm open to buying some inexpensive shareware.

Any recommendations would be welcome.

Abiword does this nicely. this will work in command line for the momment (you might need fink to install it), and should be available one day with a pretty cocoa interface. (see http://www.abisource.com)
