Hey there and hello- I am brand spanking new to the Mac community and just bought a 15" PB with 1.25, 1g Ram. The machine is amazing, even though I am about to send it in for the white spot issue. I was wondering if anyone had any info as to why I can't download from hotmail in Safari. I like using the browser but can't seem to get my files to download from hotmail. It logs me out back to the password page. I know this was a problem with the beta issues but am surprised to find it still an issue. Thanks guys.

Can you right click on the attachment and save download or link to disk?

You can also use Mail to check your hotmail account. Go to versiontracker.com and search or just grab the httpmail plugin for Apple Mail. It's a little funky to get "working" initially but it's been working quite well for me.

If you do use it, make sure you uncheck "download additional mailboxes" in the advanced account preference otherwise all of your Hotmail junkmail will be downloaded to your Mac (I get upwards of 800 each week), unless you want those emails sent to your Mac.

Hi Ronanmd, welcome to Mac land! I've had the same problem with Safari - not been able to download files form my hotmail account. So far I've just resorted to using IE for that... not a great solution. There is a 'Bug Reportt' feature in Safari you can use to tell Apple about these problems - I've sent one off and I'd recommend everyone else who finds this a nuisance does too.

Thanks for the help guys. I too have been using IE to open my hotmail account. I will send off a bug report tonight.
