Trash this preference file

~/library/preferences/Microsoft/MSN Messenger Preferences

It is the library folder in your home folder.

That should fix it

...my wife complains about MSN drops, so I rushed home to delete this pref... eh?! It's not there?!

Any other thoughts?

BTW: I've used FASTMAIL.FM in the UK for the last couple of years and it's wonderful. No ads (I paid the one-time $14..) no spam and they seem to add a feature about every 60days - many beyond my needs.

I tried, it only reset all the preferences and setting... (as I expected), but it didn't fix the bug.

I get this as well. It's very annoying. It unexpectedly quits and then when opening it again it, it unexpectedly quits a second time.

It usually only happens under heavy chatting for me though, and it sitting in the background seems to run fine. I bet it just needs an update for Panther.

I have the same problem with messenger, but i also had it under 10.2.7 so i think it's a bug in the program. deleting the pref file didn't help for me.

This may sound a bit stupid, but are you guys using the latest MSN version?

I am using 3.5 with no problems, just frwuent disconnects on all my machines.
