Ok, I purchased a couple of itunes songs on my laptop and my e-mac is authorized (at least I'm able to share and play these purchased songs on my e-mac, BUT, I can't burn a cd from the e-mac or "add" them to a playlist on my e-mac permanently.

Can anyone help?

To add songs to a playlist or burn a playlist, the songs in question must be in that machine's library. So you're going to have to copy the files over to your eMac if you want to do those things.

Is there an easy way to find the tune in my laptop library to "copy" and paste to the emac library? I've not really looked at how the tunes are organized.

Thanks

Find it in iTunes, drag it to the desktop, copy it to the other mac via Shared folders or by burning a cd.

Select the song in your Library in iTunes, then go to the File menu and select Show Song File. This will display the song file in the Finder for you.

Ok, I got the file stored in the "music" folder where my other music is stored, but it didn't show up on the new itunes until I "dragged" it onto the itunes application. Is this the right or best way to do it?

Yeah, that's the best way to do it. Simply drag-and-drop any songs you want onto iTunes (either its window or its Dock icon), and the songs will be added to your Library.
