I hate Flash because of the interface, I had hopes for LiveMotion though.

Not that I want to use either but now it seems LiveMotion is dead:

http://www.macminute.com/2003/11/21/livemotion

"Adobe has discontinued development of LiveMotion, its Web design tool for creating interactive content in Macromedia Flash (SWF) and QuickTime format. "Effective November 15, 2003, Adobe will no longer distribute LiveMotion 2.0," the company said in a note on its Web site. "Though Adobe has decided to concentrate its efforts in other areas, we want to thank our loyal LiveMotion customers for their support. Adobe will maintain person-to-person technical support for LiveMotion until March 31, 2004. In addition, complimentary technical support will be available until further notice via the Adobe Support Knowledgebase and User to User Forums on the Adobe Web site."

"Hello, what have we here?

Wasn't LiveMotion originally conceived as a development app for SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) animation's.
When LiveMotion first came out this was toted as some sort of Open source Flash (SWF) killer, the SWF export in LiveMotion was just a stop gap until the XML based SVG was more widely supported.
Without this app I guess SVG is dead in the water to.

Although some would argue that the interface was superior, it has to be said that LiveMotion produced bloated oversized Flash SWF files (use any of the 'effects' like drop shadows or blurs and it had to embed .png files in the swf, any animation ended up as a series of single frames). It didn't matter at first as it wasn't supposed to be the main delivery mechanism for LiveMotion created content.
