hello

i spoke to a guy on the M$ stand at london's mac expo yesterday. when i asked when the g5-compatible vpc update would be released he said 'early next year'. however when pushed a bit further he said 'january as far as i know, february by the latest'. he seemed fairly certain about it but made clear it wasn't an official date.

let's hope the b*stards don't cripple it...

Sounds about right if M$ is really planning on supporting the Macintosh seriously.

i hope it will be available soom cause i realy need it for school. I love my Mac but for school i need programs that don't work on a Mac and i don't like working on my old PIII 450 when i have a brand new G5. I still hope to see a release before the end of this year.

But the real question is, how will performance be. Will the lack of little Endian mode control in the G5 kill performance? Will Microsoft take advantage of its position as owner of the OS code to speed things up?

'Twill be interesting to see.
