How do I delete the drop down list in the address bar in Safari? Deleting the history does nothing. I've got a bazillion listings there, easiest seen just by typing "www.".

Also, is there a way to browse it without first typing something there?

You mean the address bar auto complete? Clearing the history has always gotten rid of it for me.

Yeah, autocomplete. Deleting the history doesn't delete it here.

It's not just the history. The autocompletion also works off of any bookmarks you may have.

I've tried the reset, and the autocomplete persists. Most are not in my bookmarks.
