I have a Kodak DX 4330 Digital camera which has the ability to take movies. When I connected it to my computer when running OS 9.2.2 the memory areas of the camera came up as desktop icons where I could take the pictures and movies out individually. On Panther that doesn't happen as the only way I've found to get the pictures off is to use iPhoto...

My problem is that iPhoto won't take the movies off the camera, and it frankly doesn't organize the files like I want them to be.

Is there anyway to disable iPhoto and let me go back to the desktop icon transfers I had in OS 9? And if not that, is there anything I can do about getting the movies off the camera w/o having to switch my start-up disks?

Applications/Image Capture

That programs prefs lets you change rom iPhoto to whatever you want.

It also allows you to do a few different things when taking the pics off.

Movies may need something else. hmm...

Image Capture downloads movies from my Canon S30 with no problem. One thing I found is that if you can't access some of the prefs you want in IC, delete the preference file and relaunch.

Pref file is in Home/Library/Preferences and is called com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist.

Try the Kodak Easyshare software, it downloads movies and stuff off of your camera. The only thing is the current version does not work in Panther, although they are updating it (I am on the beta testing team) and I have had no problems with the new one yet.

It is set up much like iPhoto, but it organizes by date (which I love).
Good luck
