Lux or iConquer
Which one do you prefer?
What are the pros and cons for each one of them?

Replying to my own question. I like iConquers overall design better. It's much cleaner. Moreover it is translated in so many languages and it is cheaper, as Lux is going to be sold for 20 $. On the other hand, Lux has nice animations and a better networking integration.

I don't know Lux, except for what I saw on your like, but I love iConquer - the plugins are great, as is rendezvous networking and iChat integration.

Any reason to believe it's forthcoming?
New features?

It is indeed coming relatively soon (can't say more than this) and it has a very very nice feature people have been asking for since 1.0
I won't say more than that, though.

sounds good.
I've been using it since 1.0 as well, but I'm not sure what that feature could be: - maybe, if we're lucky, it could be it's own built-in map-maker?
That might be more than just a mere additional feature though...
well good to know its being worked on...

Well, I have tried both iConquer and Lux. As a Risk player, I prefered Lux, the AI is quite intelligent in this game. For iConquer, it is a bit too easy to beat the game, and I found it a bit boring playing vs the computer after a while. (and also, the game is quite static without animation) The networking game and the ranking system are some of the best features in Lux. ( I guess afterall it's more interesting to play with die hard human than the predictable computer?). As a trial tester, I couldn't try the iConquer's network game, so I can't comment on it. But I must say, iConquer has a nice interface + graphics and also more maps to choose. And probably it is widely covered by other media and is downloadable from .Mac. But still, as a real game fan, I decided to buy Lux. And it is said with Version 4.0, Mac players can join the PC players with cross-platform network.

Are you talking about the fixing of the awfully slow network performance once you start playing with multiple people, so bad that the constant beach balling starts frustrating everyone so awfully much after the first few moves that they don't want to play anymore?
If that's the feature, consider me a customer

Maybe it's going to be: iConquerGL!!! OpenGL terrain with little armies of men walking on it towards other coutries where they fight it out. With options of dice rolls to decide the fate of both opponents OR the choice to enter into some 3D arcade combat where you control your armies in a RTS-style. And if you and your opponent(s) have iSight...pop-ups of your opponents face will splash the screen as he/they throw(s) insulting remarks at you. Things such as how you suck and how he will beat yo azz.
Also I think the author is working on iConquer the MMORPG, where people endlessly try to conquer the world. You'll never leave the computer. Your life will be flushed down the drain. You won't answer your mother's calls anymore. Your dog will die of starvation. Coming soon!

Lux is for more hardcore Risk players. The computer players are tougher, and the online community surrounding the game contains better players.
The best feature of Lux is that it can randomly generate different maps.
iConquer is pretty, for rookies.

Lux all the way! It's pretty darn smart. I bought it. I set all random players and it puts my anti-perspirant to work! On the other hand, I can beat iConquer with my eyes close.
