I recently purchased the Matrix Reloaded and discovered that there is an alternate DVD player included. I have been having some "hiccups" watching DVD's on my G5. During action scenes, there is a line that lingers for a 1/2 second that sometimes splits the screen horizontally(not necessarily centered, but a random full screen horizontal line). I was playing with different players (vlc, mplayer)and this one works flawlessly. Just thought I would pass along the info, The app is called Interactual player if any one is looking for an alternate to apple's player....

Is it a full fledged OS X player, and does it play other DVDs?

And it doesn't sound good if your G5 is hiccoughing on DVDs. Hmmm...

Are they doing Interactual player on the Mac now. That thing always tries to install itself on my PC. I use Power DVD on my PC and I don't exactly appreciate a program trying to install itself every-time I pop in a movie.

I was just talking to a friend on the Ham about Interactual. He mentioned it as a DVD player on his PC and I said I remembered it as a player for some of the bonus content on DVDs a few years ago (on my Mac). That and PCFriendly.

I hadn't seen it or thought about it in a couple years. Does it work stand-alone as a Mac DVD player… and do we even need it?

This is a full fledged dvd player. I watched T3 on my machine last night and it was perfect. The only reason I have been trying other players is that something appears to be going on with Panther's player, my 1.6. and my 20 inch cinema display. I have no other problems with the hardware/software except this. So I started experimenting. We don't really need a new player, but I thought if anyone else was having issues, they might be interested...

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Yeah, it was on the last Harry Potter DVD too.

Edit: WHOA this is from the website:
Why wasn't the InterActual Player for Macintosh released earlier?

InterActual's initial product, PCFriendly, had limited Apple support, and certain titles were released with limited Apple DVD-ROM capability.

The first release of InterActual Player 2.0 was a PC-only release, as its DVD-ROM capabilities (in particular, its ability to embed DVD-Video in HTML pages) could not be implemented under early releases of Mac OS X (10.0.x, 10.1.x). Indeed, until the release of Mac OS X 10.3 the frameworks (API) for playing DVDs were private and as a result Apple's DVD Player was the only mechanism for playing back DVDs; this limitation prevented the full integration of HTML and DVD Video on Mac OS systems.
Wow, DVD playing is a shared library now?! DVD video in HTML documents!?

Time to pop in my Reloaded DVD and see what's up...
