Some friends of mine who run a non-profit are looking for a basic IVR solution that they can run on an iMac under OS 9.

Only needs very basic functions like a menu tree that will play back recorded information (announcements, hours, etc). Voicemail needs are very limited--one box should do it.

Faxing or unified messaging are not required.

Anyone know a good product or using one?

They are willing to upgrade to OS X if nothing exists for OS 9, but its an older iMac so OS 9 is preferable.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what an IVR is, but by the sound of it - http://www.ovolab.com/phlink/ will do what you want.

Interactive Voice Response. That's the standard name for systems that run phone menu scripts (like moviefone--press 1 for blah, 2 for blah...).

They range drastically in scope and complexity (like the Cisco behemoth I administer for my company and is certainly shortening my lifespan).

And yes, your link is precisely what I'm looking for. Thank you very much. In fact, its ideal since the USB adapter should lesson the burden on the poor little iMac. Of course, they might not want to spend $150, but the product is exactly what they are looking for.

Thanks again.

Anyone know any others? Always good to have options.

Anyone used the Ovolab product? Its kind of a bummer that you can't test it because you have to buy the USB device...

My Brother recently bought one - it seems to work quite well - there is no voice recognition - but there is Tone recognition.

The developers seem to be very good at reacting to feedback - it has only just been released and they are releasing updated quite frequently.

Thanks again for the feedback.
