Hi,
To the users who know or use the Cocktail utility program, I would have a question:

Not long ago, Cocktail reached version 3.2 and many updates of this program have been posted for many months, sometimes posted at a pace of a week period.
Could you please explain why there are so many updates of this utility program, which main functions, at least at the beginning, were built around simple unix commands: I think about daily, weekly and monthly maintenance command lines...
If I limit myself to the main maintenance fuctions, why an old version of Cocktail [pre-paying era] shouldn't do the same jobs as the new versions?
Is it correlated with the updates of Mac OS X in Jaguar and Panther?

Thanks for your contribution.

The best individual to answer those questions is the developer(s) of Cocktail. But I guess that a lot of things can change. You name it, localization, optimizations, user interface changes, etc.

Also as you point out, a lot of things changed from Jaguar to Panther, so maybe (I don't know the specifics of Cocktail) there is a need to update some things.

Cocktail is a terrific program. True it was free under Jaguar and now costs money under Panther. But I would NOT use something designed for Jaguar on Panther, especially something like Cocktail. I'd rather pay or use something else.

That's silly. It's been updated for Panther compatibility, so there's absolutely no danger in using it.

Sorry, I was unclear in my previous post. I meant that I would not use the previous "free" versions of Cocktail which was designed for Jaguar on my Panther system. I would rather pay for the current version of Cocktail for Panther or use something else. Sorry for the confusion.
