Why is my Explorer Unsecure ?

I posted this in the webdesign forum, but nobody seems to visit there, so Ill try my luck here, because I need to order something online quickly.

When I go to Expedia.com and log in, I get a "Unable to establish secure connection to server" message.

I need to buy a ticket, and I obviously need a secure connection.

Any ideas ?

I have the latest explorer (for both OS9 and OSX), and the unsecure message happens regardless.

Is this something on my end, or could it be something on Expedias end ?

The best way to determine if it is a problem on your end is to use a different web browser such as anything from the Mozilla family(Camino, Firebird), Safari, or Omniweb. Those latter two are OS X only, but if you can dual boot then it should not be a problem for you to use them.

Just to add one thing, I did a search, and most of the answers I found had to do with having outdated security certificates and older browsers.

Since Im using the latest explorer, I assume that this doesnt apply to me.

If I cant get my Explorer to safely buy something online, Ill have to assume that there is a M$ conspiracy preventing Mac users from going on vacation.

Yes, youre right, it would be a good idea to try another browser.

Im currently only on OS9, but my other machine is dual boot, so I will give Safari a try in a few minutes.

UPDATE:

Ok, it worked when I tried to log in to expedia with Safari/OSX.

Explorer blows.

At least I can buy my ticket now.

You might want to try Netscape if you really have to use OS 9.

could be that you havent set a secure connection proxy in ie's prefs, if you use a proxy normally and cant connect without one

Sorry to be massively pedantic - but the word is insecure - not unsecure.

Just FYI
