Because to me the time remaining doesn't often correlate to the actual percentage and vice versa - hence, I like to see and compare both

I use XRG 0.40 which shows both % and estimated time remaining.

X Resource Graph shows a lot more, but unfortunately it doesn't replace the menu bar icon.

It does however do a lot more!
