all of a sudden today ichat wont stop crashing. I have erased all its plist files, repaired permissions and run disk repair. And it crashes without me even doing anything. All i have to do is leave the app running and it quits on it self within a couple of minutes. I have not installed any new software lately and it just started happening today. It still stays connected according to the menu extra but the app itself crashes. this is what the crash log looks like:

iChat crashes for me on 2 different Macs on startup (because of SIGPIPE signal). I have to use AIM now, because I can't launch iChat anymore. It stopped working for NO REASON, and was working perfectly before. Anyone experiencing this? (problably a different issue than yours). Here is the backtrace from gdb :

I managed to fix the issue by restarting the router (D-Link 604) or by disabling the network connection before launching iChat).

The bug seems to be related to ssdp/upnp... I put some more information in the bug report I opened to apple. Not sure if this will help for your issue.
