The files do work when I open the application first, then choose the file from the application.

I can no longer click on the file iteself, to open it in the application. So when i click on the file I want in Finder, blah.doc, i should get Word to pop up, but instead I get the below error message.

Unexpected error 10660, and thats it. I cant open the file. Any ideas on whats wrong?

Just for fun...

"Get Info" on the Word file and set "Open With" to Microsoft Word and hit the "Change All..." button...

Work?

did you install it on an older OS X, then use Archive & Install to upgrade to Panther?

I think there was a problem with the Tester version that was on jaguar when i got the pb...then i instlled Office x top of that. To add to that, I did the panther upgrade, and i think the combination of those changes screwed something up.

After removing the tester version, and doing a new install, everything works.

Thanks folks.
