I made the movea few months ago to Apple's Mail, and iCal. I no longer need Entourage. So even with these changes, I cannot seem to be able to kill Entourage's event reminders. I kill all running MS processes in the Terminal, but they always somehow recreate themselves.

Does MS somehow write stuff in my cron tasks? How can I kill the reminders coming from Entourage, without completely wiping the Office package off my drive?

Thanks,

t

System Prefs>Accounts>Startup Items>

Delete the MS Daemon that runs at startup. That should take care of it.

Every time I delete it that little bugger finds its way back there...what the heck?
MS is taking over my computer!

Thanks,

I removed it once again, if it comes back I am emailing Bill and telling him that he is fired!

Open "Office Notifications" inside the "Office" folder inside your MS Office.X folder, go to the first menu, select "Turn Off Office Notifications".

That should take care of it I think -- the MS database Daemon is not started every time you open an Office app.

Of course, feel free to still email and fire BillG.

Alternatively you could ask Bill to rewrite all their software in Cocoa - they could then cease any further development of that thing called Longhorn.
