Today I have installed Adobe InDesign CS (upgrade from 2) and a odd thing has started happening with the MSN Messenger Hotmail shortcut.
If I have MSN running and I click the 'My Hotmail inbox' link from the Dock menu instead of opening the Hotmail page in Safari, it now starts up InDesign.
Has this happened to anyone else & how would I fix it?
The other thing is that Suitcase says it requires an update for it's InDesign auto activation Plugin to work, is this available from the Extensis website, as I haven't seen the update mentioned on MacUpdate?

Someone posted this on the adobe forums:

"Here's how to fix it.

If someone can think of an easier way to do this then by all means, chime
in.

On my machine messenger puts a file in /private/tmp/501/TemporaryItems

The file is named msmsgrtemp 6eff3258.html the second part (6eff3258)
changes every time you click on the mail link in messenger.

You've got to have this folder open and be ready to get info on this file
when it appears, because it auto deletes pretty quickly.
As indesign is trying to open the file (start with indesign closed, to give
you a little more time) if the file doesn't appear on it's own click on
another file in the folder to make the finder refresh. Then get info on the
messenger created file.

In the get info dialog change the file to open in internet explorer and then
click "change all".. now try clicking the mail button in messenger again and
it should work. Now you can go back and follow the same steps in order to
change the preferred application back to safari.

I haven't restarted yet, but for now it's opening correctly in safari.

If the file isn't in that location, you'll need to archive indesign so that
it will go back to opening in safari anyway, and then cmd+click on the file
name in safari's title bar to determine the location.

After this you can follow the above steps and then un-archive indesign."

The InDesign CS activation is downloadable from the Extensis website.
Always on the run...

Thanks that seams to have sorted it. Did a search on the Adobe forums and it seams that they are blaming a bug in MSN, Od that it worked fine with the old version of InDesign installed, I upgrade and suddenly a bug appears in a unrelated app.
