I believe there's something wrong with my Remote Desktop Connection setup between my iMac 800MHz running Mac OS X 10.3.1 and my PC, running Windows XP with all the latest updates.

I'm going over a 10/100 switch, with 10/100 ethernet in both machines, and the performance is horribly horribly slow - it doesn't even keep up with my typing with only TextPad or Notepad open.

Anyone have any ideas? My MSN Messenger file transfer (on my Mac) is quite slow sometimes, it seems, too.

Processor usage just SPIKES when I type, taking up 70% of my entire iMac's processor, sometimes more if it can take it. I think it's my iMac that's screwing up, not the PC, because when I quit iTunes, that seems to increase the speed of typing marginally.

What could be the problem?!
