If M$ is still making Mac apps in all seriousness then summer 2004 is a likely time. It's been 2 years then since V.x and it fits with their product cycles.

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I'm pretty sure MS is still making Mac apps. They just ditched IE because it's not worth it to them. Office (and now VPC) are still on their product grid.
But yeah, 2 year product cycle sounds about right for MS. I swear they only have one dude pumping out Mac code for all their apps. Or maybe it's not a dude... maybe it's a monkey.

MS Office v.X ain't perfect, but it's still a great suite. I look forward to the next version of Office Mac. I'll get it when I can get VPC for the G5 and the new Office Mac together.

If they could make VPC run well I'd consider getting it... that said it'll probably never run at a usable speed on a 900Mhz G3.

Compare Office.X to some recently published software like Macromedia Studio MX 2004, keeping in mind that Office is 1.5 years old, and the speed and stability of Office will seem like a miracle.
This is excellent software, despite the inevitable M$ bloat. Excel rocks (not that I know much about it, but when I have to work with some (windows) clients' files I am always amazed how fast and well thought-out it is. Their formatting pallette in some respects even works better than Omni's new Graffle pallettes -- it respects the screen boundary (sorry Omni!).

Don't get me wrong, I think the Mac Office suite is nice (the best out there for Mac). I just wish MS would update it more often. Takes them forever and a day to update their apps.
