Hello:

I really hope someone here can help me out...I did search and couldn’t find a solution to my dilemma.

I am using IE v. 5.1 on my early model Mac Powerbook 233mhz, 192MB RAM, 2 GB, OS 9.1. I am having extreme difficulty logging into my Hotmail account as of late.

Specifically, every time I enter my log in name and password, the browser proceeds to log me in, only to display a blank page. In the lower right hand corner, I can see the task bar that indicates the loading time and what not. All it does is work its way up to the half way point of the bar, and then it just zaps forward without displaying any information on the screen.

I tried refreshing the page nearly a dozen times with no luck. In the past when I've had this problem, hitting the refresh button seemed to work (eventually), but now it doesn't help at all....

So I guess what I'd like to know is what do I have to do to be able to access my Hotmail account once again? Is this a problem with the Hotmail service or an issue with IE 5.1 or perhaps both?

I am open to your suggestions. Thanking you in advance for your helpful comments! I look forward to hearing from someone soon.!

MS did update their Hotmail site last week. But I just accessed my Hotmail account in IE 5.0 under OS 9 without problems.

Try using IE Preferences (Receivng files/Cookies) to remove all cookies from: .msn.com, www.msn.com, www.hotmail.com, .passport.com, www.passport.com, and .hotmail.com

On the same pane, check your cookie settings to make sure you accept them from those 3 sites, too.

Hello:

Car1son,

I don't think cookies are the problem for me as I've always cleared them after each internet session. I tried to log in after they've been all cleared, and same thing happens.

This was happening to me when I was using IE 5.0. I just upgraded to 5.1 a few weeks ago with the hope that it was a bug with the older version. But no matter which version of IE I use, I can't seem to get the browser to log me in correctly.

I'm still open to suggestions....anyone?
