can any of the mac irc clients connect to f-servers

i've asked this before, and some have said no, others yes

i was on irc one time, and somebody, who knew i was using a mac client was trying to explain it to me, so it must be possible somehow

so can anyone help me?

f-serves just use DCC which is basic stuff. I use snak and it works great but I would think all clients can do DCC send/receive/chat etc...
if one can't then it is crap.

The main thing you need to do is set up your router/firewall to allow a DCC port range through and port forward to that mac. And port 59 as also may be needed if you have to listen to a f-serve if the f-serve itself in behind a firewall. example being a f-serve at a uni that blocks incoming on port 59 but allows outgoing. In that case you do the listening for requests.

if you have no local router or firewall (you are DMZ) than you do not have to worry about ports and port forwarding etc...

can you help me out i have one of those speedtouch dsl modems connected to my G5, but I do have the OSX firewall up

I don't know anything about ports though
