If so,how is its Palm syncronization?
Does this software completely eliminate the need for the address book/ical/isync?
Chris.

There's lots and lots of information on DayLite on their web page, in their forums, and in their archived email list.
Many people love DayLite and rely on it, particularly those in sales. Its roughest feature at the moment in the calendar module which does not allow the same degree of control with repeating appointments that most other calendar apps do (i.e. no way to delete/change a single instance of a repeating event, events can only repeat on a limited range of bases, etc.)
That said, it's contact management is *extremely* powerful and they do plan to update the calendar in the next major release (2.0). I've never used the sales-specific features, but I've heard from many who love them.
Why not download and try the demo - the developers are extremely responsive and will answer any questions you might have very quickly.
Hope that helps.

I use Daylite but do not use it with the Palm or for the calendar. I use it to track marketing/sales projects and to link contacts to them.
It doesn't work directly with AddressBook. Instead, you must synchronize with AddressBook via Daylite. I personally do not like this but the devs say they have to do it that way. :-(
I believe in the AddressBook and its ability to be the central repository for contact info. I don't like having my contact info scattered so I use AB and isync with my palm and .mac account. I only add new contacts to AB and then add them to Daylite with its sync feature.
I don't really trust one app to do everything for me. Great apps like iWork that use the abilities of AddressBook will not see your contacts if they are contained in Daylite. I think the same would be true for apps that link to iCal. (Daylite can sync with iCal but again from within Daylite.)
I really like Daylite for my limited focus of projects. I would suggest the Business Edition. I don't think the interface got updated in the Personal Edition. The new interface is very nice.

the reason DayLite can't/doesn't use the address book is because it stores much more information in each contact card, including importantly an individual's links to other DayLite data items such as appointments, tasks, opportunities, organizations, projects etc.

cpac,
I understand all that.
I was simply pointing out to the thread starter that they should still use AddressBook and iCal if they use Daylite.

You do know that AB can store a LOT more info than the AB app shows. AB is extensible in that I can't see ANY reason for ANY app that "syncs" with it not to dump their own AB and just use Apple's.
THey can add any field to the AB record and only the app that knows about that field would use it.
