I really don't understand how this could be! How, on God's green earth, could Safari be incompatible with .Mac's Home Page? Okay, I finally had the need and desire to use my .Mac web space, and I found it convenient to use .Mac's canned menus. I'm using Safari version 1.0 (build 85), and I've been struggling for the last half hour to get things to work properly. For some stupid reason I quit OmniWeb 4.5 (which had been working with Home Page just fine) and used Safari instead. Suddenly, the changes I made to a menu wouldn't post, even though it would confirm that it was published. Instead of saving the page with my content, it would display a default/blank menu. Then I tried to make a new menu, but Safari refused to load the edit page completely.
Entirely disgusted, I relaunched OmniWeb for one more try. Astonishingly, the edit page worked properly, and the page published properly too! How could Home Page possibly be incompatible with Safari? I am truly baffled. . .

Hmmm. Well for me most sites still dont work. Have filed bug reports to Apple since Early Safari betas but nothing has been done yet.
On the other hand the very slow and irritating and ancient Browser Internet Explorer still opens almost all pages correctly. And they say safari is a modern browser

What websites are you referring to? I can't say I have had *any* problems with Safari since 1.1.
Also - have you tried Mozilla? The latest versions are quite nice, and render basically any page on the internet. And unlike Internet Explorer, it is being actively developed.

I've occasionally had issues with Safari and .Mac Homepage. Seems to be due to the way Safari manages its cache and sometimes it helps if you empty Safari's cache (available under the main Safari menu) and before trying again with .Mac.

A big problem with Safari is that there just aren't enough preference panes. The old Netscape and Internet Explorer have tons of options which was nice because you could customize better.

Mozilla has officially replaced Interenet Exploder as my backup browser. Moz 1.6b is damn #$%"$"# AWSOME!
Shame that the development of Moz will end after 1.6. It is by far the all round best browser out there. The Moz team finally managed to do what they wanted in the first place.
Firebird is just never going to become anything unless it picks up many of the Moz features and then it has become just as 'bloated' anyway.
Gah /rant
(else Safari 1.1 almost NEVER gives me a problem with any homepage)
