Retrospect Express (v 5.0.238) does not recognize the superdrive in my Aluminum powerbook as a device to which it can write. It sees the drive, but does not see it as a writeable drive. Before I assume there is a real bug here, I'd like to know if anyone else has observed this problem. I've also sent Dantz an email regarding this, but no reply from them yet. From previous posts at MacFixIt, I think this version of Retrospect Exp works fine with 10.3.1, which is why I suspect the drive's firmware instead of the OS.
The drive and the media I'm using work fine when burning via Finder, iTunes, and Toast Lite.
15" aluminum Powerbook
OS 10.3.1
Superdrive: Matshita DVD-R UJ-816 rev. DXJ3
Thanks!
