I have to copy some text from an Excel spreadsheet into Mail and when I do it pastes it as a TIFF not the actual text. Is there any way to get around this?
Have you tried the command "Paste With Current Style" from Mail's Edit menu? I think that this is akin to MS Office's "Paste Special: Unformatted Text" command.
Office uses it's own proprietary clipboard that doesn't play nice with some other applications. I sometimes have to have an intermediate application like BBEdit to paste the data into before moving it to the destination app.
That's what I've been doing. I'm sure that pasting as a TIFF might help me someday but why do programmers have to make the default some obscure method that no one would want to use.
