I have been trying to run Photoshop 6 in classic under Panther.
It opens fine but the menu bar (with the layer menu etc..,) at the top of the screen does not show up. Other classic applications work as they are supposed to with the menu bars popping up just like it should but for some reason Photoshop 6 does not.
I have reinstalled it twice but it is still happening in Panther. When I boot to OS 9.2 the application has everything where it should be so I assume this is an issue that is related to running Classic.
It is really not worth the cost upgrading to an X native version of Photoshop since the copy I own does everything I need it to but I also do not want to have to boot into classic if I can avoid it.

If you want to avoid booting in to Classic at all just get the upgrade to the OS X native version or see if you can fine Photoshop 7 from someone. Maybe photoshop is one of those apps that works a bit funky under classic.

This is a known issue with Photoshop under Classic. It's been a while, but I think it happens if you start Photoshop at the same time you start Classic.
