I'm assuming that means that GarageBand is on a DVD due to the large number of samples.

So the computer that i would be installing GarageBand onto doesn't have a DVD drive, but another computer in the house that's networked to it does.

Can software like this be installed over the network? Any ideas?

Thanks

I was just wondering the same thing...
I bet you can...the installers are usually self-contained, and if they're not, you can just mount the drive via appletalk.

There are any number of ways to do this. You can mount the CD remotely, you can mount the remote hard disk on the Mac with the DVD drive and install on it, or image the disk and copy it over the network and install it like that.

I can think of about 5 more ways to do it as well, I wouldn't worry, as long as you have 1 mac with a DVD drive.

Does it say that GarageBand is on the DVD. Maybe iLife '04 comes with a CD install too (like previous iLife).

Scarcely pausing for breath, Vroomfondel shouted, "We DON'T demand solid facts! What we demand is the total ABSENCE of solid facts. I demand that I may or may not be Vroomfondel!"
