Hey
looking for a bit of help. i live in university halls and the campus provides internet access free which is really cool and wicked fast. they also use a proxy for all the usual reasons. got proxy details for secure http connects and rtsp today and added them to the appropiate fields in the network pref pane, all browsers can now deal with https links except safari, and i've tried resetting it, dumping the cache, logout/in. i don't know what else to do since its obviously not picked up the new settings. OmniWeb and Camino both work with https stuff as well.

on a realated note do you think i would need to make any mods to the QT prefs to get it to play nice with the network or should the rtsp network prefs do? i noticed there was a connection tab in the QT preferences but it still doesn't stream. i'm not sure the network allows it to be honest but i'd like to watch the macworld keynote .

thanks in advance

Safari prior to Panther does not support HTTPS proxies.

Set QuickTime to use HTTP as it's preferred streaming transport.
