This is one thing I don't like about Apple, crippling software that they deem won't work on slower machines. All of the pro Apps have a script that runs to check if your Mac will meet their requirements to function, if not, then it won't install, not good. This means people who are willing to use Final Cut Pro, or Soundtrack, etc. on a G3 are basically being told to upgrade their computer, just to run a program. This doesn't happen with other high-end apps from other manufacturers, and certainly doesn't happen on the PC.
I'm happy with my G3 just now, I don't care how slow Final Cut Pro will run, I jut want to run it. Look at FCExpress 2, version 1 works fine on a 400 mhz G3, but not 2, it won't even install unless you meet the new requirements. I'd rather be the judge of what I think is acceptable usage.
