quark sucks (i mean, quark SIX), gets sluggish after a while on my G4.
text entry, etc gets delayed.
any ideas why this might happen? (and what to do about it??)

Same here, it really crawls on the G4 733. A restart seems to cure it for the most part.

It's probably one of the many "features" they added in version 6. I believe it's called "slowdown.XT" and is meant to force you to take a coffee break. It's probably why they took so damn long to release an OSX version.

actually, i switched to inDesign cs, but my biz partner is a die-hard quark user...
any other ideas, things to try?

Unfortunately, I can't think of anything that might work, other than disabling some of your fonts if you have a lot of them open.
