I have some AIM buddies that I haven't talked to in a long time, and I'd like to just remove them from my contact lists.

I use a PC at work (Trillian), and I use iChat and Adium on my home PowerBook.

It seems like whenever I delete the buddies from one list, they reappear after awhile.

Is there any way to permanently delete a particular buddy?

Thanks,
Jason

iChat - Select the name, hit "delete" (or backspace, whatever it's called)

Adium 1.6 and lower - Delete the name from the contact list manager

Any Adium alpha - Delete from contact list manager, and theoretically, this change should also affect iChat, since they use the same chat agent

If you've done all that, I can't think of what else would be wrong... basically, Adium 1.6 is the only thing that uses its own contact list (I can't speak for Trillian though, having never used it).

Yeah - sorry, maybe my question was unclear.

I delete these buddies from my contact list, but they always end up reappearing.

I'm trying to get rid of these people forever! Muahahahaha!

Log in via AOL's client, delete the names, then delete AIM again...
